Williamson County Democrats to Hold Biennial Convention

The Williamson County Democratic Party will hold its required biennial county convention; a reorganization event held every two years.
Officers will be elected to serve two-year terms. Positions are chair, vice chair, recording secretary and treasurer. Other ancillary positions and committee positions may be filled or appointed. The party will also review by-laws and discuss the 2015-16 party agenda.
The Democrats will elect up to 24 executive committee members, two each from each of the 12 voting districts in the county. The party reorganization convention is open to all Williamson County Democrats. To participate you must bring a valid photo ID and meet our credentialing committee standards. You must also be in the building prior to 10 a.m., when the doors will be secured, per by-laws.
The meeting will take place in the Auditorium of the Williamson County Administrative Complex, 1320 West Main Street.
All Democratic residents who are eligible voters of Williamson County are urged to attend.
The WCDP has a monthly potluck dinner meeting the third Thursday of every month and holds Coffee Klatch, an informal discussion of issues, every Saturday morning. The WCDP also includes WC Young Democrats, WC Democratic Women and WC Democratic Veterans Council, all of whom meets monthly and conducts various public service and governmental awareness events. All meetings are open to the public.
Williamson County is the sixth largest Democratic voting county in Tennessee. The mission of Williamson County Democratic party is to promote the ideals and principles of the Democratic Party, to aid in the election of Democratic nominees for public office, to encourage constituent participation in matters of public policy and to facilitate communication between constituents and elected officials.
